Flow-Based WhatsApp Agent

WhatsApp Agents now support a Flow-Based mode, allowing businesses to build rule-based conversation workflows using a visual drag-and-drop builder. Unlike AI agents, flow agents execute predefined conversation paths without invoking an LLM for every message, significantly reducing AI costs while providing faster and more predictable customer interactions.

How It Works

When a message comes in, a Flow-Based WhatsApp Agent processes it through a predefined conversation path built using a visual drag-and-drop builder. This allows the agent to execute rule-based workflows and respond instantly without calling an AI model for every message. The flow can also be configured to transfer the conversation to an AI agent or a human agent if needed.

How to Use

1. Create or edit a WhatsApp Agent.
2. Select Flow-Based as the agent type.
3. Build your workflow by dragging and connecting nodes in the Flow Builder.
4. Configure each node according to your business process.
5. Save the flow and assign a WhatsApp number to the agent.
6. Incoming messages will now be processed through the configured flow instead of the AI model, unless the flow explicitly transfers the conversation to an AI agent or a human agent.
