Embed a WhatsApp chat button

Add a floating WhatsApp button or an iframe to your website so visitors can open a chat with your agent's number.

The Embed tab gives you code that adds a WhatsApp button to your website. When a visitor selects it, WhatsApp opens a chat with your agent's number. The tab is available on AI and Flow agents and uses the number you selected in WhatsApp Settings.

Add the floating button

  1. Open your WhatsApp agent and select Embed in the sidebar.
  2. Edit Tooltip Message. This text appears in a bubble above the button. The default is "Need help? Chat with us on WhatsApp!"
  3. Copy the script and paste it into your page's HTML.

The script sets window.kippsWaConfig with your number, the agent name as the brand, and the tooltip. It then loads the widget from cdn.kipps.ai. A preview on the page shows how the button looks.

Add an iframe

To place the button inside a page instead of floating, copy the iframe code from the same tab. The iframe URL includes your number, brand, and tooltip as parameters.

You can also link to your number directly with a wa.me link, for example https://wa.me/919876543210. Use the number with the country code and no + or spaces.

Prefilled message:

The tab also has a Placeholder Message field, which you see in the preview. The published widget and iframe open the chat with your number but do not insert that text into the message box. If you need a prefilled message, use a wa.me link with the text parameter.

Troubleshoot

The embed code is empty or the number is missing. Select a WhatsApp number for the agent in WhatsApp Settings and save.

The button does not appear. Check that the script is inside the page's HTML and that your site allows scripts from cdn.kipps.ai.
