Instagram Agent — Assets Management

Upload and manage supporting media files, PDFs, spreadsheets, and visual assets that your Instagram Agent can reference in automated conversations.

The Assets tab (located at /instagram/assets, powered by InstagramAssets) provides a dedicated file manager for your Instagram Agent. This section is live in the sidebar and allows teams to store brand collateral, price sheets, and documents that the agent can reference when interacting with customers.

1. Overview of Assets

While the Knowledge Base handles large-scale textual documentation for semantic vector search, Assets serve as dedicated reference attachments and direct media assets:

  • Direct File Reference: Store product PDFs, sizing charts, or promotional images that the agent can cite or distribute.
  • Self-Contained Storage: Kept within your organization's Instagram workspace for easy audit and asset updates.

2. Uploading Files

The Assets interface features a drag-and-drop file dragger:

  • Supported File Types: .pdf, .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .csv.
  • File Size Limit: Up to 10 MB per upload.
  • Multiple Uploads: You can select and drop multiple files at once.

Steps to Upload

  1. In the Instagram sidebar, click Assets.
  2. Drag and drop your files into the upload box, or click the box to open your file browser.
  3. Once processed, the uploaded files are listed in your assets library with name, file type, and upload date.

3. Best Practices for Media Assets

  • Optimize File Sizes: Keep image assets compressed (e.g., modern WebP or optimized PNG) so customers on mobile networks can view them rapidly.
  • Descriptive Naming: Give files clear, descriptive names (e.g., acme-pricing-guide-2026.pdf rather than doc1.pdf) to make them easily identifiable in prompts and instructions.
  • Keep Assets Updated: If policies or prices change, upload the newest version and remove outdated files to ensure the agent never cites obsolete information.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Assets and Knowledge Base? Knowledge Bases are designed for semantic vector search (RAG) where large documents are chunked and indexed for factual grounding. Assets are direct file attachments and supporting collateral (such as sizing charts, visual guides, or product sheets up to 10 MB) that the agent can directly cite or reference.

What file formats can I upload to Assets? The Assets uploader supports .pdf, .png, .jpg, .jpeg, and .csv files up to 10 MB per file.

Can I upload multiple files simultaneously? Yes. You can drag and drop multiple files at once into the upload area.

How does the agent reference an uploaded asset? You can reference asset names and contents directly within your unified system instructions prompt in the AI tab (e.g., "Refer to our sizing-guide.pdf when helping customers select dress sizes").
