Troubleshooting
New Meta ad leads are not receiving WhatsApp messages. Confirm the WhatsApp number linked to the campaign is active and the WhatsApp integration is authorized. Also verify that the Meta webhook is correctly configured—check Meta's webhook delivery logs in your Meta developer app to see if the lead form is firing events.
WhatsApp messages show as sent but leads report not receiving them. Verify that all lead phone numbers are in E.164 format and have active WhatsApp accounts. Numbers that are not registered with WhatsApp will silently fail delivery. Also confirm the leads have opted into WhatsApp communications as required by Meta's policy.
The campaign shows "Not Started" even after clicking Start. Check that the campaign has a WhatsApp agent assigned and that the WhatsApp number has an active connection. If no valid agent or number is configured, the campaign cannot start.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does a WhatsApp campaign differ from a Voice campaign when using Meta lead ads? Both use the same Meta Lead Generation Ad integration for capturing leads. The difference is in how leads are engaged: a WhatsApp campaign sends text messages via the WhatsApp Business API, while a voice campaign places outbound phone calls. Use WhatsApp campaigns when you want to send template messages, links, or rich media at scale.
Do I need pre-approved WhatsApp templates for Meta lead campaigns? If your campaign messages are sent outside the 24-hour conversation window (which is typical for new outbound campaigns), you must use Meta-approved WhatsApp message templates. Have your templates approved before launching the campaign.
Can I send images or documents in a WhatsApp campaign targeting Meta ad leads? Yes. WhatsApp campaigns support rich media including images, PDFs, and video if your template or session message includes a media URL. Configure the media fields in your campaign message settings.
What if a Meta lead has already been contacted in a previous campaign? Each campaign is independent. A lead from Meta who was contacted in a previous campaign will be contacted again if they appear in the new campaign's audience. Implement deduplication logic in your campaign setup or Meta lead form configuration to avoid redundant outreach.
Is there a limit to how many Meta ad leads can be in a single WhatsApp campaign? Limits depend on your Kipps.AI subscription and your WhatsApp Business API messaging tier. Higher messaging tiers allow more messages per day. Contact support to understand the limits applicable to your account.
