Router node

Branch a workflow campaign into True and False paths by comparing a contact field with a value, using operators such as equals, contains, and greater than.

The Router node compares one field of the lead's contact with a value and sends the lead down the True or False path. Use it to treat leads differently, for example to call leads from one city and message leads from another.

How it works

  • The node compares one field with one value. To test several conditions, chain several Router nodes.
  • Text comparisons ignore upper and lower case. Mumbai equals mumbai.
  • The node has no delay. It runs as soon as the step before it finishes.

Add the node

Open the Logic & Data group in the left NODES panel and drag Router onto the canvas. Connect it to the previous step. Double-click the node to open the Configure drawer.

Configure the node

SettingWhat to enter
Node NameA name that describes the test, for example is-mumbai.
Contact FieldThe field to compare. Select First name, Last name, Email, Phone number, or one of your custom fields. You can also type a field name.
OperatorHow to compare the field with the value.
ValueThe value to compare with. It's hidden for is empty and is not empty.

Operators

OperatorTrue when
equalsThe field is the same as the value.
not equalsThe field is different from the value.
containsThe field includes the value.
not containsThe field doesn't include the value.
starts withThe field begins with the value.
ends withThe field ends with the value.
greater thanThe field is a number larger than the value.
less thanThe field is a number smaller than the value.
greater than or equalThe field is a number at least as large as the value.
less than or equalThe field is a number no larger than the value.
is emptyThe field has no value.
is not emptyThe field has a value.

The four number operators compare numbers. If either side isn't a number, the result is False. Every operator except is empty returns False when the field is empty.

Where the field value comes from

The first name, last name, and email come from the lead's contact. A field you type or select that the lead data also holds, for example a field sent in a webhook request, is read from the lead data first. Otherwise the node reads the contact's custom field with that name.

Outputs

OutputMeaning
TrueThe comparison is true.
FalseThe comparison is false, or the field is empty.

Troubleshoot

ProblemWhat to check
Every lead takes False.Check the field name for typos, and check that contacts have a value in that field.
A number comparison is always False. The field must hold a plain number, such as 85, without units or symbols.
