Setting Up a Workflow Campaign

Learn how to create a campaign and select the Workflow setup type to start building a multi-step campaign on the workflow canvas.

Before you can build a workflow, you need to create a campaign and choose Workflow as its setup type. This gives you an empty canvas where you can chain triggers, actions, and logic nodes together.

1. Create a New Campaign

From the Campaigns tab, click Add Campaign and give it a name.

  • Campaign Name is required and is used to identify the campaign later.
  • Click Create Campaign to continue.

2. Select Workflow as the Setup Type

Once the campaign is created, you'll be asked how you'd like to set it up:

  • Standard Setup — pick an agent and a message template, then reach your audience with a single call or message per lead.
  • Workflow Setup — build a flow with multiple steps on a canvas, chaining calls, messages, and branching logic together.

Click Choose Workflow to continue with a workflow-based campaign.

3. The Workflow Canvas

You'll land on the workflow builder. This is where you design your campaign by dragging nodes from the NODES panel onto the canvas and connecting them.

The nodes panel is grouped into categories:

  • Triggers — start the workflow (e.g. a scheduled run, an API/webhook call).
  • Outbound — actions like placing a phone call or sending a WhatsApp template message.
  • Notify Team — internal notifications (coming soon).
  • Logic & Data — branching, conditions, and data transformations.
  • Write Back — write results back to your data sources.

Once you've added your steps and connected them, click Save Workflow in the top-right corner to save your campaign.

4. Starting from a Template

Instead of building a flow node by node, you can click Templates in the top-right corner of the canvas to start from a pre-built workflow for a common use case.

Important: a template only provides the flow structure and node connections — it does not come pre-configured with your agents, phone numbers, or webhook credentials. Before saving and running a template-based workflow, open each node and configure it with your own Voice Agent, phone number, WhatsApp template, or API key, just as you would in a workflow built from scratch.

Next Steps

With your workflow campaign created, continue to the Nodes section to learn how to configure individual nodes, starting with the API / Webhook Trigger node.
