Workflow campaign nodes
Overview of triggers, outbound actions, notifications, logic, and write-back nodes available in the Kipps.AI workflow builder.
Workflow campaigns are constructed by dragging and connecting nodes on the visual canvas. Every node performs a discrete action—such as ingesting an inbound lead, dialing a phone number, evaluating a customer's response, or updating a database.
Action nodes feature dedicated output connectors for distinct execution outcomes (such as call answered, missed call, voicemail, or delivery failure), allowing you to construct adaptive customer journeys.
Node categories
The workflow sidebar organizes available nodes into five functional categories:
| Category | Purpose | Included nodes |
|---|---|---|
| Triggers | Define how and when a workflow execution starts. | API / Webhook, Google Sheet, Contact, Incoming Call, WhatsApp Conversation End |
| Outbound | Initiate customer communication via phone or messaging. | Phone Call, WhatsApp Template |
| Notify Team | Alert internal staff members when specific milestones occur. | WhatsApp Notification |
| Logic & Data | Branch execution paths or manipulate contact variables. | Lead Qualification, Router, Create / Update Variable |
| Write Back | Export execution outcomes and extracted data to external destinations. | Write Back to Sheet |
Triggers
Every workflow must start with at least one trigger node. A single workflow can listen to multiple trigger sources simultaneously.
- API or webhook trigger: Generates a dedicated webhook endpoint and secret token. Ingests leads instantly from external web forms, lead ads, or custom backend services.
- Google Sheet trigger: Polls a designated Google Sheet tab every 5 minutes and runs the workflow for newly added rows.
- Contact trigger: Triggers when existing contacts match designated tags or custom contact parameter rules.
- Incoming call trigger: Initiates workflow execution when a customer dials into an assigned Kipps.AI inbound phone number.
- WhatsApp conversation end trigger: Automatically triggers follow-up actions once a live chat session with an AI or human agent closes in the WhatsApp inbox.
Outbound nodes
Outbound nodes place live communication to the lead using configured AI agents or verified sender credentials.
- Outbound phone call: Places an automated outbound call using an AI VoiceBot. Offers branching outputs for Completed, User Busy, Missed Call, Voicemail, and Call Failed.
- WhatsApp template: Dispatches an approved Meta WhatsApp template with dynamic variables populated from contact attributes or preceding node outputs.
Notify team
- WhatsApp notification: Sends an alert message to up to 10 internal team phone numbers rather than contacting the customer. Supports both the default Kipps.AI sender number and your organization's own WhatsApp Business account.
Logic and data
Logic nodes evaluate context from previous steps to steer contacts down appropriate branches.
- Lead qualification: Uses an LLM to evaluate conversation transcripts or user responses against custom qualification criteria, assigning lead scores (Hot, Warm, Cold) and extracting custom parameters.
- Router: Splits contacts across multiple paths based on conditional rules evaluated against contact fields or campaign parameters.
- Create or update variable: Modifies, computes, or stores custom variables and contact parameters during the workflow run.
Write back
- Write back to sheet: Appends a new row or updates existing rows in a Google Sheet with execution outcomes, transcripts, call durations, and extracted lead data.
